About me

C.R. Quinn is a budding author whose prior accomplishments include...

Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you buy the book, you can read the canned bio. I want this page to give a little more insight into who I am, and why I started this series.

Up until three years ago, I would describe myself as an actress, dancer, corporate lemming, wife, and stepmother. But not an author. So why the heck would I write a book?

So here's the deal...I've always been a big reader (unless it was summer reading for school and I was forced to do it, my mother would say), and I especially love paranormal and fantasy series. I had read three novels in a row whose endings made me angry. The last one, I even threw the book across the room. I will admit I was being a little dramatic, but I was seriously upset. That's when this little voice in my head said, "Well if you think it's so easy, then you try and do better." So yes, I talk to myself, but that started my journey.

I wrote the first chapter in secret, and was a little embarrassed to tell my husband what I had done. But finally I came to him with something I wanted him to read. If he liked it, I would write more. But if he didn't, and it was the worst thing he'd ever read, I would delete the file and we would never speak about it again.

So as it says in my dedication, he read and wanted more.

Creating Brianna Morgan

Why a housewife in her 30's? Well, frankly because there weren't many 30-year-old heroines. Yes, this is a vampire series, however, this book truly revolves around Brianna's journey as a woman who has been given a chance for a new beginning. I wanted to see a real woman save the day and kick some butt, but also experience her struggles along the way. By exposing my characters to the core, I hope that readers find they can connect with them as deeply as I do.

Sometimes you're just not meant to have the cover picture you want, and a week before your release you have to start from scratch.
